Sometimes people have questions about who we are and what we do. We’ve put together this list of questions and answers to help clarify common queries. If you have a question that you feel would be useful to our community of customers, please feel free to suggest a new question.
-
Are you a consignment store?
No, we sell a mix of new, vintage and antique items, but nothing is consignment. We find the pieces ourselves and put it together.
-
I’m looking to sell some pieces, would you be interested?
We do occasionally buy pieces from individuals. Please email us pictures and prices (we do not appraise), and we will get back to you
-
You have such a variety of inventory, where do you find it?
In short everywhere, we like to joke that no place is safe. For the new items we go to the High Point furniture market in North Carolina once a year and source lines that aren’t common in the area or we feel offer something special. For the vintage and antique items we go to flea markets, estate sales, antique malls, thrift stores, and online sources.
-
How long have you been in business?
We’ve had our store in Kirkland since September 2016, but we’ve been in the furniture business for over thirty. Terry was a partner and the designer for a furniture store in Bahrain a small country in the Middle East.
-
How do your design services work?
Our design services are really tailored to what you’re looking for. We’ve worked on projects where we have started with a blank slate, to ones where we are pulling together the final layer of accessories, to everything in between. Please visit our design services page for more information, or email us to set up a free consultation.
-
How often do you get new things?
We get new things in daily. Due to the uniqueness of our inventory, once an item is sold something completely different comes out which means our floor is constantly evolving.
-
How often do you have sales?
We only have one store-wide for our anniversary during the month of September where we offer 10-25% off everything depending on the size of your total purchase. We do occasionally have sales on specific items such as rugs, or upholstery.
-
Is the store named after the movie?
No, Terry has always collected unusual birdcages and between the two of us it became a symbol of home. When we were in the process of brainstorming names she looked out the window and saw a birdcage I had given her and the rest is history.
